- Resin Type: Select the type of epoxy that best matches what you’re using. This helps us estimate the cure times.
- Room Temperature: Enter the current temperature of your workspace in Celsius. Temperature is a huge factor in curing!
- Start the Timer: As soon as you’ve finished pouring your resin, click the “Start Curing Timer” button.
- Track Your Progress: The timer will start, displaying the total time until completion. More importantly, watch the Milestones. The tool will automatically check off each stage as your project passes through it.
- Log Your Notes: Use the “My Project Log” section to add notes about your pour. What colors did you use? Did you try a new technique? Did any issues pop up? The notes are saved in your browser for next time!

Can I close my browser tab? Will the timer remember?
Yes! The timer’s progress and your log notes are saved in your browser’s local storage. As long as you use the same browser on the same device, you can close the tab, and when you return to this page, the timer will pick up right where it left off.
Are the milestone times 100% accurate?
They are highly educated estimates. Curing time is influenced by several variables, including the specific brand of resin, the accuracy of your mix, the humidity in your room, and the total mass of your pour. Our timer uses resin type and temperature to provide a firm guideline, but always be prepared to give your piece extra time if your conditions are not ideal (e.g., it’s a very cold or humid day).
What does “Gel Stage” mean, and why is it important?
The Gel Stage (also known as the “B-Stage”) is critical in the curing process. The resin has started to thicken and is no longer a liquid, but it remains soft and sticky, like a very thick jelly. This is the perfect time to apply a second layer of resin, as the new layer will chemically bond to the gelled layer, resulting in a seamless finish. It’s also the last chance to embed the surface gently.
What if my room is much colder or hotter than the options?
Our calculator adjusts times based on the temperature you enter. However, most epoxy resins have an ideal curing range (usually 21-25°C or 70-77°F). If your room is significantly colder, the cure will be much slower and may even stall. If it’s much hotter, the cure will be faster, but there’s a risk of overheating (flash curing). Always aim to work within your resin’s recommended temperature range for best results.
